I remember as a child at boarding school we seemed to be wearing damp kit a lot of the time as waterproofs didn't exist and runs or walks were compulsory, whatever the weather. It was horrible.

For more remote tours you can buy bio soap stuff in outdoor shops (I bought 500ml for about £5 in Cotswold outdoor) which is multipurpose for use as shampoo, shower gel, clothes travel wash, and to clean fresh veg with! Good for packing light and they say it can be used safely in rivers etc... then the classic al fresco bungee washing line technique to dry. IMO putting on slightly damp Lycra isn’t a big deal cos it’ll either dry super quick when you get moving or it'll be raining anyway...
