Afternoon everyone, im a newbie on the bike scene. I recently (mid summer) purchased a Scott Aspect 40 mountain bike for my daily commute to work (9mile round trip). Through the biking to work I have found that I actually enjoy getting out on the bike and have done a few reasonably small rides at steady paces on weekend (15-30 miles each time). Ilive in Barmby On The Marsh, East Yorkshire which sits on te TPT, Me and a few friends have had the idea of cycling the Trans Penine Trail next summer for charity. Just after a bit of advice and any tips you're wiling to give really. Anyone done this route before>? how did you find it? how much training di you put in?
We're looking at completing the trip over 3 days (around 70 miles a day) starting in Southport and heading East beack towards home. the second night stop would actually put us in Selby, only 8 miles from my house…………..probably going to be doing the ride in May/June time of 2013. Iddealyl i want to be comfartable biking 70miles in one day by xmas, then work on consecutive days from there.
