I've just been on the phone to VM this morning after our broadband dropped out, AGAIN! :banghead:
He's now apparently downloaded a new hamster or something to our hub thingy but I don't know exactly what due to the language barrier :surrender:
Then he asked me to run a test on www.speedtest.net which came back with the result below :addict:
However, it's all Greek to me so can anyone tell me if this is regarded as OK
TBH it seems quicker since he's downloaded the new whatever it was, but time will tell if it's anymore reliable:cuppa:

The download speed of 220mb/s is more than fast enough* for virtually any household use, although the upload speed is pretty poor by comparison (although still plenty fast enough for most users)

* - depending what speed you're actually paying for, of course!

You have one of the fastest download speeds in the country :okay:

Just tried a couple of other test sites with slightly varied results. I'm happy with the speed, but it all comes down to reliability.

If it keeps pi$$ing me off I'd rather have less speed and more reliability, but I'm not sure if reliability is something you can factor in with broadband suppliers, as when we had Sky that wasn't exactly reliable either.

The test sites tend to vary a bit, so getting different results isn't unexpected. Funnily enough the speed test on my ISP's (BT) website always gives the fastest speed for some reason...

That is bonkers fast. I'm just shy of 50 atm, and I consider that pretty damn nippy. And you're at four times that and change? Well gosh.

Just over two miles from the centre of Chichester in a village, Sky broadband can't get fibre because of the cabinet being over subscribed.
That's really rubbish. I get far faster than that on my phone!
Tell me about it.

Out of interest:

"The fastest broadband in London will soon zoom into the homes of more than 20,000 council tenants in Battersea.
With initial download speeds from super fast fibre optic broadband testing at 1086 megabits per second (Mbit/s), Battersea broadband will beat the UK average speed of 22.8Mbit/s.
Wandsworth Council has partnered with Community Fibre Ltd to deliver the state of the art network to more than 20,000 homes."

Wonder how its getting on... from September 2015
