Ice started to commute to work, it's a 50 mile round trip, and I want to know how long will it take my body to adjust to it. What doesn't help us the fact that my job is very physical and I work 6 days a week 11 hours a day. Also any advice would be apreciated.
Thanks.

How old are you ?
Age will be the most relevant factor.

That's a fair old distance if you are commuting every day mate.

It all depends on a few things really.
How fit you already are
How hilly is the route
What type of bike you have

I've just retired from football, due to an ankle injry, and started road racing to keep my fitness.
The routes pretty hilly, the hardest being the first 6mile and obviously the last 6.
I'm riding a felt z90, but talking myself into buying a ribble.
I train 3 times a week, one long ride on Sundays, one medium hilly ride, and one fartlek session of 20 mile, 2 mile sprint 2 steady. It's the stiffness in my legs that is uncomfortable during the day at work.

this time next year you will not think anything of it. it will be just be 'a ride to work'.
if your work is very physical then don't forget you shouldn't be racing to get there in the morning, or racing back home for that matter, as your be getting up the next day feeling not feeling your best for another ride in

give it about two to three months and you'll be fine, but, it will be hell to start with

Would someone be on the wind up by any chance?

Given people do similar milages or more touring 'day in', wouldn't think it's that hard with a rest day once you get used to it. What I couldn't get used to is 11hrs working + a 3hr commute - doesn't leave much 'me time' by the time you get in and eat your dinner and wash up.

No rest day as Frisky also does one "long ride" on Sundays plus an additional two training rides during the week.

Hehehe

And that's on top of digging the 5 miles of canal in the daytime!

Wouldn't mind a 50mile commute...atm. Might feel different in 4 months time (or probably 4 days time given British weather).
