I'm currently out of work. Quit last year as I became.. burnt out, i suppose. Finding it harder to get a new job than i had expected but, fingers-crossed, i'll be retiring in twenty years or so! ...Great!

I never had a plan..for my pension, or life in general...i just go with the flow.
57 now, retire at 66 I think, mortgage will be paid off at 60...I got a bit in company pnsions but one of those is frozen, the other wont have accumulated much and I did pay into serps for years the it stopped without me realising when I changed jobs...I dont know if the money I did accumulate is still added to my state pension.

I'll probably work on for a couple years...I dont have a plan for retirement either, just amble along,

16 years.
Fortunately my mortgage is paid off and I have no dependents, so I am in a position to be saving to ensure that I can finish in my mid sixties if I want. I know those who through ongoing commitments or life events are unlikely to be able to stop because they won't have saved enough.
I appreciate that I am in a lucky position.
Thanks, but I'm washing my hair.
That's a very detailed hair washing routine you've got to know that you're washing your hair on the day I retire in 20 years. A wee bit OCD if you ask me ;)

No mortgage but at 45 I still have a few years to go, no doubt the state pension won't be available to me until 67?? We have savings so am hoping for 65. I would definitely retire, pretty sure I could find things to do.
