"Your call is really important to us.". I translate that in my mind as " Your call is really important to us...but not so important that we would pay to have sufficient numbers of staff answering the phones."

The warden in this place has just phoned up for me about the letter i got from E-ON demanding payment for the previous occupiers run up bill. She was on 15 minutes before she got past the robotic repeated messages. Rather her than me!

I phoned one supermarket up once and was met with a recorded message telling how much their "special offers" were. Nearly 2 minutes of some recorded message telling me how i could buy 40 cans of Fosters for 20 quid and a 10kg bag of spuds for a tenner drove me crazy! :ninja:Are they on commission from the GPO to bump up our phone bills i wonder?:scratch:
GPO ... I think you have overslept by 37 years! :laugh:

I was on hold for about 55 minutes once, then the Vivaldi stopped and a man's voice said "I am sorry, the office has now closed. Office hours are ..."! :cursing:

Always good when that happens. Especially if you've been placed on hold having actually started talking to someone.
