Uninterrupted since leaving university in 1982, so that's 34 years plus another 4 years counting the part time jobs I did as a student. Thinking of continuing for another 4 years or so before calling it a day.

I'm 56 and have had dozens of different jobs. I've been in my current one for nine years, the longest ever at the same job and 13 years as a greenkeeper (I cut grass IF there's anyone who doesn't know).

Mind you I only work 6-7 months a year, but I suppose it's extended my ability and desire to work on until retirement age - 67 (assuming everything works out).

Started work in this country in September 1970, now semi-retired. During that time I have been a waiter, insurance salesman, center lathe turner, driving instructor and teacher. Now, I decide when I want to work as I am a pensioner.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
A total of 25 years. Took time off to have children. Gave up work in 2006 as I had had enough . I worked a variety of jobs. I finally I worked for the national lottery office that awards grants to community groups. And I don't miss work at all.

Started "proper" work in 1987, so 29 years ago. So just over 21 years to go, unless the retirement age changes again (and it almost certainly will)

I'd had various other jobs prior to that, starting with various paper rounds (the worst was the local weekly free sheet - 365 papers, the round included 6 blocks of walk up flats and took the thick end of 3 hours to do, all for the princely sum of £3.65 a week. Yep, thats 1p per paper. And because they insisted on paying the wage into a bank account I had to cycle two miles to the branch and queue up at the counter to get my money. Funnily enough that didn't last long...).
