I've been working on the same site for 25 years, the company has changed though (it's a bit like when you buy a flat I suppose, when the previous owner can't be arsed to remove the cooker- it's cheap, doesn't work so great and the inside is filthy- so they include it in the sale). I've had a good few job titles too.

Since I haven't had to apply for a job in all that time I figure that's an unbroken run.

20 years and six months in my last company, but in different jobs over that time. In actual fact, I'm still there - but 6 months ago I was TUPE'd over and now work as an employee of a third party IT supplier that they use!

I'm coming up for ten years this October! Time for a change maybe? Whilst I love my job, and the lifestyle I can't help thinking that ten years is way too long! What would be your limit - even if you enjoyed your job?

6 years for me in my current job but looking to change again...but in no rush...previous job was 16 years

39 years, I started as an apprentice on the railway in 1974, I fear that i won't make 40 years though, as at present i am off sick and the condition will stop me driving trains or be near the railway in the future.

Hope things work out alright for you Paulus
You can't do what you want when you work for yourself either - everything is your responsibility. Its continuous 24*365 and very wearing. I have never worked for anyone in my entire life (started off barrowing sea coal off the beach and selling it round the doors) but have always envied thoose in a 9-5 job with 5 weeks paid holiday, sick pay, pensions, everything really!
Total agree with you. I've been self employed for over 40 years, really envy people who get holiday pay, and all the perks.

I worked for NHS 24 for just under six years before moving to London and try not to stay in a job for more than two years before moving on. I've been in the current one for about 18 months and am stuck until next April thanks to the Cycle to Work scheme but I quite like my doctors so it's not too bad.

25 years on 15 October this year. Apparently I'm in line for a gold watch though actually it will be a nice little cheque, which will get spent on bike bits.

Did 40 years man and boy with the same company (NATS) until I retired in 2010, made for a good pension

Sorry, OT for a post:
Tony Smith, Heathrow then Prestwick, ring any bells?

Longest in one job was 19 years. Since then, everything from 3 weeks to 6 years.
Currently sitting at 1 year in present job, but it's only a pocket money gathering exercise 3 days per week. Looking for something else, but never full time again!
