Mohammed's popularity as a name is undiminished in the Muslim community.

Undoubtedly, but I suspect there will be a glut of Caucasian Mo's coming through now too, not Mohammed, just Mo.

I hope that reads OK and doesn't sound offensive, certainly isn't meant to in the slightest.

The were only about 3 of us called Douglas in the entire year at school, and even then I think that might have been a bit higher than normal.

By far and away the least common name in our year was Gabriel. He was an American chap who appeared for a few years whilst his parents were working here.

He was rather predictably named 'GAYbriel' (which didn't help the fact that I had a schoolboy crush on him ).

My kids have non-decade specific names, I think. Jennifer has always been around, Donald is one of those old fashioned names that never makes it into the top 100. Both were born in the 90s

Oh, and I am not a teacher, but I suspect any name starting with a random K, rather than the normal C, eg Kalum, will be 'spirited'.

Kevin is quite a popular name among French and Belgian teenagers. That says it all, really.

You see quite few German Kevins too - dated to Keegan's days in Hamburg.

Quite high ratio methinks.
