How many lights have you lost?

So, how many lights have you lost on your commute? Or is it just me that is happens to.

I do an 8 mile commute, then when I get to work/home doh! another rear light has fallen off.

I always make sure they are clipped in properly to the quick release but still they find a way to come disconnected.

I just bought two weeks ago a very nice 1w blackburn Mars 4 light. Well it only lasted two weeks before this one fell off.

This is now three lights so far as well as six AAA re-chargeable batteries now lost.

I tend to put my lights on during the day as well. I believe that they make you more visible that a high vis vest will.

I have found having my front light on, which is a hope vision two LED. Makes me more visible. I have found that I have less car drivers cut me up or pull out on me. I tend to think that they see the light not the cyclist coming at them.

Now to go out and buy another light.

Cable tie around the bracket works for me. Never lost a rear since I started doing that.

Never lost a one. Mine are either handlebar mounted (with extra 'bag-ties' to stop them coming undone / grab them if the mount fails) or clipped onto my pannier so securely I have difficulty taking them off.

Found a 5 light Catyeye still flashing in the middle of the road a few weeks back and caught up with the rider who'd lost it though.

I've never lost a light. The majority of time my lights are bracket mounted on mt hybrid but on the road bike the rear tends to be clipped on to a saddle bag. ps I've got one of the Mars 4.0.
What I have lost a couple of time atleast is a Kryptoflex cable. However touch wood as bike/ wheels never got nicked I've went out and bought another.

I remember an Ever Ready plastic front light falling off when I was cycling to Tottenham in 1988 and a car ran it over,but generally I dont lose too many.Lost or smashed the odd cycle computer though.

Oh yes, ive also had a computer fall off. my fault for messing with it as I was cycling along. It fell off but could not find it. There was a drain quite close by though.

None. Get a cheap LED flasher off ebay, then Araldite it in place. (The brackets are always lamps' achilles heel)

I've had a few other things fly of the bike too, some how touch wood on busy roads traffic suddenly seems to reduce.

Very rarely lose lights on the road. I tend to lose them in the house over the summer. I put most of them away when they are less needed but come the darker nights, can I find where I put them? Well, the answer, regrettably no (although I can always find the brackets). It does mean that each winter I am off to the bike shop for a new set of lights. One day, perhaps, all the old lamps will turn up!!!

I used to remove my lights from my bike each summer - nowadays, I don't bother. I use them occasionally on summer evenings anyway, so not worth it for me. Based on the idea that every removal makes the fit that bit slacker, I also went for the type of lights where the batteries can be replaced without removing the actual light from its mounting.

The brackets on My Single Shot plus disentegrated, twice, I had a Halfords cheapy that used to launch itself off, once I swear a car adjusted direction to hit it, Hope Vision 2 has a decent bracket so hopefully will be ok, Tesco torches secured by jubilee clips arent going anywhere !

I don't think I've owned any light for more than about 2 years.

Either the bracket will break and it will bounce intot he road, or the case will crack, or it'll just stop working, or ... countless fates.

If I can get two winters out of it I'll be happy. The longest lasting I think were the big Dcell Duracell Lockable lights that you could key onto the frame. They lasted long enough to need a 2nd key cutting before they broke into pieces.

Never lost one, but I seem to drop them with unfailing regularity. Of course this might be because I'm usually only out at night because I've been to the pub ...

Had my Cateye fall off my saddlebag loop a few times (always when riding on the cobbles along the street to my flat).

In the end I put a cable tie around the bottom of the clip and now there's no way it can come off without sharp scissors or a pair of pliers.

Old Cateye front light bounced off in October - smashed to bits......

Nothing else really !
