How many miles is to many on a second hand Rohloff

Looks about the same colour as when I changed mine.

Water in the hub would emulsify the oil, giving it a creamy colour and texture.

On this occasion, black is good.

This thread prompted me that my annual Rogloff oil change is due at this time of year, so I did it this morning. I have to say, the old oil came out looking g blacker than I remember. But I don't recall cycling through any floods this year...

How well does the elderberry jelly you inject work as a lubricant?

I am 63 so I expect the one that's done at least 25,000 miles will see me out. The other one I expect has done bugger all.

Guy Martin rode the Tour Divide with a Rohloff, & reported no problems with it (in his 'Worms To Catch' book)
However, he had problems with the shifting mechanism
(then again, given the terrain, maybe that's no surprise)
