Uni is 3 miles, hospital is 25 miles, work is somewhere between 9 and 12 miles. I don't think I could work out what an average week is but I seem to do about 150 miles a week, given that I work seven days.
Once my broken hand is less broken I'm going to try some less busy roads, which will increase the mileage and take me over Portsdown hill at least twice a day.

About 5 miles either route, try and take the quietest depending on what shift i am on.
Didn't think the results would be as shown though, thought the 5 - 10mls would be bigger, maybe not enough votes yet.

I've been cycling since March 2010, and my route is about 5.8-7.1 (5.8 takes me up a steep hill, 7.1 around it). I commute around 3 days a week as we are encouraged to work from home for 2. Just for interest, I keep a Spreadsheet of the data on my basic cycle computer. I've attached it and hope that it's useful.

The first pic is a graph of average speed. I'm intrigued with the dip around the Winter. I'm not sure whether it's because the weather is miserable, I'm carrying more, or whether when I started I had more enthusiasm for going quickly. Either way, I'm interested to see if the average speed recovers in the Summer.

The second pic is a graph of the commuting miles. It's an estimate, as I record my journey in and double the mileage to make up the day's total. This wont always be 100% (as I often take the shorter route home, down the steep hill!), but it gives a rough indication for comparison.
(February is a poor result as I've been off the bike for about 3weeks now with an awful office cold.)

Hope this is useful.

Winter is slower for several reasons - denser air (more resistance), more clothng (extra drag) and more hazardous road surfaces (to avoid).

This morning was a lot colder than last week and I found it much more hard work - this despite there being no wind and fresh legs after the weekend rest.

5-10 miles each way Mon-fri. Technically a 1.25 mile commute Sat/Sun but I go out for a 20 mile ride before or after work, so does that count?

Just completed my first 21.9x2mile commute (without extending it manually).

Normally I do 10x2 with a 20 mile homeward run when the weather is nice.

11 miles for me. I aggregate 4 1/2 working days a week due to my shift pattern. Almost no variation on routes. Not cycled less than a dozen times over the last 18 months.

p.s. not the best designed poll, it doesn't really show the shape of the curve very well at all as the steps in distance are too chunky.

The shortest route i take is 3.5 milesd usually extend it on he way home (dependent on weather and time) do this 5 times a week and sometimes on a saturday aswell.

Out on my good bike today (Yah!!) which has a computer on it. (too lazy to switch it over onto the winter hack!). I just realized that when I drop the kids off at the child minders (3 days a week) my normal 11.8 mile commute into work is 12.8 miles!

I just can't imagine a driver getting excited about having a longer commute!
