How much did you spend on your gear?

I dare not add it all up and we don't have a huge amount by any means but also I have another half who is also into cycling, so everything has to be bought twice! I often look at my Triban 3 and then consider the changes made to it (new wheels, new cassette, narrower bars, shorter stem, new pedals, pump, water bottle cages, pannier rack, mudguards, cross levers, front QR light mount, front & rear lights... There is a reason I go out on my mtb in lycra - I can't afford to 'match' clothing to bike style... Lights are all interchangeable thankfully, as are pannier racks, panniers, pump, water bottles, Garmin etc.. but even so... £££'s

Not sure what a lot is but I have some nice kit, however it was all bought out of disposable income I could afford to spend. I would imagine what I have spent in the last two years alone would have bought a house back when I started this lark.

Must be a grand a year on stuff not including bikes. No kids, small mortgage, well paid job, no other hobbies so it's perfectly affordable

And the same again on coffee, cake and jelly babies

I would make a guess of maybe 3 - 4 k euros. All spent since 2009. probably end 2012 up to summer 2013 must have spent 3k of that. I have more gear than what I will ever use..... see pic

This is my gear full to the neck...... dearest was 2 mavic jerseys 25 euros on sale from crc. I suppose ive more quantity over quality. My best friend is Aldi and I find it more than sufficient for my needs. Better also when you lose some weight by this cycling lark......... wont be down as much money when gear is too big

Last year i reckon to have spent around £300 quid on clothing, parts and repairs. This year i hope to spend less, i'm avoiding the new but not necessary jersey temptation,i wont have to buy a new helmet(replaced last year)and i bought all the gloves, overshoes, shorts etc i need last year as well. So fingers crossed the only things i'll be forking out for this year are inner tubes and the odd cable.
