£130 for 2 here at a special event. Food matched to beers brewed in conjunction with the restaurant in a nearby micro-brewery.

There is a plan to go for a long leisurely lunch there next week. Previous lunches have come in around £50 each before.

Most was about £140 at what was at the time noted as the best resteraunt in Iceland. £100 including a bottle of wine happens a couple of times a year. We keep meaning to spend £2-300+ at a Michelin starred place but we are yet to find one that really appeals, I suspect we will end up at Raymond Blanc's place for some classic French cooking.

We went to Paris last year and ended up in a small boutique little place in the designer shopping area.

1 grapefruit juice and 1 lemonade was 16 euros

I knew what it cost and although it was a rip off we did enjoy sitting there watching the world go by. Never again tho.

Lets not include the wine. £500 for high end food for 2 is over the top. If you do a bit of research you can do pretty wel for £200. High end restuarants generally do serve good food but they have a heavy premium to mange demand which are normally corporate and business expensed away.

For that price a weekend getaway with your partner at a location where they serve good food would be a better deal.,

I don't think I'd go to a restaurant where there was a demand for mange.

I've had some weird stuff in my mouth in my time, but never paid more than fifty quid for the privilege.

I must be a scrooge....I've been in a tv personalities place and had an average meal and been in a local Italian that is reasonable and had a superb meal more or less every time....I've found a few pubs where I've had excellent service(one in Hebden Bridge for the locals).

Well this is the thing.
I have had most wonderful meals in all sorts of places. From the humble corner cafe in Orpington to a very high class French Restaurant in Cannes and everything inbetween.
