How much is a 15 year old Nissan Almera worth?

I was going to say f*ck all but the 12 months MOT could make it worth that. Does it have all those impossible to repair (unless you have very deep pocket) computer controlled engines etc in it?
Mates van spent two months in garage trying to sort out an electrical/computer fault.

I think it was made before the horrible computer bits became the norm?

I help some pensioner friends out -can't drive for health reasons - and they have a Mazda Demio S reg which is very very basic but very reliable little motor.

Check out the comparable prices on Autotrader - the Almera seems to be traders buying at scrap value and adding on £150 profit where older Demio's go for twice the value.

I said "yes" to the Honda but I'd say "no" to this, my wife had a 1998 and 2001 Almera, nothing mechanically ever went wrong with them, they just rotted away. The roads were full of Almera's now you rarely see one..............

Why don't you just buy a Focus? £600-800 will buy you a very good condition 2002/3 sub 100k car with SH?

I've just been to look at it again. I can't see any rust apart from a bit of surface rust on the inside of the drivers door. It looks too good to be true but they say it hasn't had a respray. It's done 80 000 miles so that's better than i thought. Underneath is rust free and so's the exhaust. Maybe it's in the minority and stayed rust free?

The car is only worth what the potential buyer wants to pay regardless of the asking price, we all have budgets when buying motors and if our price as a buyer does not suit the seller you can always look elsewhere. I would offer £550 and then haggle, older nissans have always been fairly reliable even if they do rust rather quickly. (check for rot around the fuel filler cap, if it is rusty walk away)

Lack of advisories on the last MOT would be a positive sign that this is the case.

@Accy cyclist if you only need a small car see if you could find a Toyota Aygo very reliable economical and seem to pass the MOT's with little effort ! my daughter has had one for several years now, ok you may have to pay a bit more but as the saying goe;s you only get what you pay for.
