Shut Up Legs

Same here, commuting is the bulk of my exercise!
Same here, but I have to ride (heh, heh) a fine line between getting my exercise and letting my commute wear my legs out. My commute is already at or at least near the limit of what's practical, and my legs ache all the time. Occasionally, though, I get the urge for scalping others, but it's their fault for overtaking me in the first place! It's even sweeter when I get overtaken (on my Vivente tourer) by someone on a road bike, then wear them out and overtake them over the next several km. I got a guy like that last week: he overtook me, so I stayed about 2 bike lengths behind him for the next 15km or so, until he suddenly slowed down and stopped. I reckon he was faking a mechanical problem .

As long as I breathe, I attack.
10 miles with 450 feet of climbing in the last half, i always give as much as i feel i can give .
Over my commute the time can range from 33 to 39 minutes ,Some days its more than others depending on how the legs feel, today was definetly a take my time day as the wind was biting and my legs were burning from the last few days.

what i classed as a bimble is apparently pushing hard according to the other couple of guys who cycle in. i do know where the important segments are though.

try to get in before the canteen staff as 2 are quite cute and cheer me up with their smile

The first couple of hours? Lummy! How far do you commute?

40 in the mornings, but the return can be as little as 2 :-)

I've never ridden to/from work flat out, although i have ridden certain sections flat out. Too much stop start and I need to pace myself for the amount of miles i do.

Indeed. I also do long distance commuting (14m) and could not keep it up the full week if I went 100% all the time.

I bimble at a lively pace, I commute in my work clothes, I try and go fast enough to do the journey in a reasonable time but not that fast that I arrive sweaty, the aim is to arrive having just started to glow from the effort, my commute is about 6.5 miles each way and takes about 25 minutes each way.

Very often I leave my residence with the intention of an easy spin into the office. This seldom happens though and the furthest I seem to have got before applying some effort is about 2 miles down the road. By the time I am half way there, it's a main commuter strip and literally like riding in a sportive. I try not to hammer it but I just can't help myself!

I like to keep it a steady 5mph ^_^
Well, I work anything up to 14 hour shifts on my feet, need to conserve my energy!

doing manual work, on my feet for most of an eight and a bit hour shift, if I combine too much vim and vigour cycling with a very busy week at work I've got Friday legs by Wednesday.
