I lost the small plastic "breakfree" peg from my front brake lever on Sunday. It is designed to sacrifice itself in a bump so that the alloy lever or the lever housing itself doesn't get broken. (I can't think of any bump to make it break or come out of it's mounting.)
I went to the LBS this afternoon, and after rummaging through a box of Hayes spares the guy chuckled and said "Ooh!". I was chuffed he had one in stock, but he then showed me the price. Nine quid
. He was really quite embarassed. I need to weigh it, it's really very light, and compare it gramme for gramme with the price of gold.......
