Only been cycling since April 09, 3 new bikes in that time.
April 09 Trek hybrid that started the madness, now retired to be my studded tyred bike for winter.
October 09 Spesh Secteur that is now old and battered but still used regularly for commutes and weekend/forum rides.
Dec 11 SpeshTricross, my allweather/offroad/go anywhere bike, still looks like new after almost a year, well it would if I cleaned all the muck off it

Would like to replace the Secteur some time next year if finances and other things allow.

I am just looking to get a broad range of bikes. I currently have a steel racer (which I use for commuting) and a FS MTB.

However, I have a deposit down for a Spech Sectuer Elite in January and I might even buy myself a Fixie bike to just potter around on and get rid of my MTB.

I would love to have a recumbent though. But they are retailing at about £2000.

I've bought 5 new since 1998 and had 1 given as a present, as follows:
1998 - Raleigh Pioneer Jaguar. Still my main bike.
2000 - Apollo Meltdown. My first knockabout bike.
2005 - Apollo Excel. It was a choice of this, which was on sale at £60, or spend £80+ on replacement parts for the Meltdown.
2005 - Neobike folder. A gift from my brother.
2007 - Cycles Maximus trike. Shame I had to sell it.
2010 - Hawk Trakatak. The current knockabout bike. Much nicer to ride than either Apollo but I've had to replace a lot of parts already.

If you have to ask and all that, but just check out offerings from Rose, Ghost, Focus, even Cube to name 4.

Avoid the big boys like Specialized, Trek, Giant, Scott etc if VFM is top of your list.

Yes i do have to ask as im learning from knowledgeable forum guru's like your good self.

Flattery will get you a long way but I'm no guru, just a lifelong cyclist with a passion for all things two wheeled. You'd be surprised what you pick up over the years

CC is the best cycling forum I've ever used TBH. So if you've got any Q's ask away, I can almost guarantee you'll be snowed under with responses
