Fun fact. It takes about seven years of state pension payments to make your NI payments back. After that you can start on Income Tax.
Never underestimate ‘spite’ as a motivating factor.

That would explain why GranDad lived to 92

My Dad always said he would not die until they invented shrouds with pockets!!

He was a nice person but very aware of money at times
probably due to living through 2 World Wars and all that

At 61, and having never had kids, my currency in popular culture stopped at about 1990. When watching quiz shows, questions relating to tv, films, music, books etc after this time, and children’s entertainment after about 1973, are a complete non starter for me. And the prevalence of questions ‘after my time’ increases with every year. I am unable to answer about half the questions on Pointless.
Of course, this is still many more than I can answer on University Challenge.

I was 37 when we had our first child and 40 when the second came along, they definitely keep you a bit younger as you are exposed to what their generation are up, listening to etc.

I was 43 when my youngest came along. Fortunately she likes Supertramp, so I'm no closer to understanding that which the typical youngster listens to.

They listen to a lot of the music we listened to, a reflection of how bad music is at the moment, however my son has introduced us to a lot of the new country music thats actually pretty good.

A while back I was walking the dog and coming towards me was a groupmof teenagers with a ghetto blaster (I think that's what theyre called) playing Black Betty by Ram Jam turned up to 11. I was weeping tears of joy at the new found hope for the teen generation.

I'd be more worried about actually watching Pointless.
