Vantage

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
The Dawes Vantage frame, fork, cantilevers and front mech are just over 5 1/2 years old. Everything else has been replaced although I still have the original wheels.
It's the only bike I've ever had that wasn't nicked or wrecked within a year.
I'd like an n+1 mountain bike for those days when I want to venture a little further off the beaten track, but the Vantage copes admirably with most terrain I'm brave enough to wobble along. Can't afford another bike yet anyway.

I think mine celebrated it's 20th birthday this year. I thought it was 20 last year but apparently it was purchased in '97 (the receipt is very faded), but could have been '96 stock. I'm not sure. It's an old bike but rides like new.

My oldest bike is my Raleigh Royal that I bought second-hand some time in the late 1980s, so it must be 30-35 years old. No longer rideable, alas, so the frame hangs on the wall of my garage.

My oldest rideable bike is either the Edinburgh Co-op hybrid that I bought (new) for commuting in 2004, or the Brompton, which I bought second-hand a couple of years later when they started getting strict about taking non-folding bikes on the train (good excuse to buy a Brompton though). I'm not 100% sure. I could probably date the Brompton more precisely from the components or the serial number but ICBA.

Newest bike is less than a year old - the Planet X Holdsworth fixie that I built towards the end of last year.

Dawes 501 is a 2007 model, on complete original drive train. Best bike I've ever had.
Ridgeback Adventure is late 1990s I think, @raleighnut will know.
Trek 1200, recently bought from this forum is a 2006, I think.
Dahon Speed 7 is a 2010.
Philips (Dahon) Boardwalk is a 2005.

Thinking about it, every other member of the family has a newer bike.

I'm not even sure how old my Ridgeback is.

My Tricross is 8 years old - so still qualifies as being my new bike. My mountain bike is very old - I bought it third hand for 70 quid when my nice one got nicked and I just use it when going into town, as it doesn't look so nickable (touch wood).

My Raleigh Chiltern was made some time in the late 1980s. The wheelset is from a 1991 bike, it has stainless steel spokes and looks better than the rusty original.
