I got a 1, for both my old house and my new house. I was interested to see if anywhere scored more than a 1, so I put in the post code for a rather steep and heavily trafficked area in Plymouth, and it also scored a 1.

I tried my inlaws who live just off the A12 in Ilford and it only scored a '2'. What scores a '6'? Venus?!
I was about to ask the same. I live not to far from A12 in Ilford area and it scores a 1.

I checked my work in Trafalgar Square area and on v busy bus routes, with lots of polluting vehicles and it only scored a 3

The pollution rating at EN5 2BL is1 out of 6(good)
Although I live in a London borough, my address is still Herts, I do live within 200 yards from farmland.

Did people read the bit under the score?

This is a measure of a single pollutant and, as it is postcode based, it will cover an area rather than a specific address - hence the very clear caveat.

But if its a scale of 1-6, where scores above a 3?

2 out of 6 in da’stone . The caveat means it probly a 6. My boys worsening cough in the haze would suggest it .

Another reason to fark off to the SW of U.K.

If you look at the Mappair maps that you can purchase (but you can get a mocked up preview of) you can see more clearly how the mapping works and how you can have a range of scores across a postcode area. If you look at central London postcodes, for example, you can see lots of red alongside roads.

It's also worth noting that Mappair is using 2016 data.
Interesting.

hhhm not sure where this is sourced from, my home Post Code scored a 1 which is fair enough we are surrounded by trees but the post code for what is known as the worst street in Glasgow (Hope Street) scored the same 1

I got 1 for each of the major power station postcodes, which the NAEI have as the major NO2 pollutants.

I'd expected they would be 6, and given the scale of magnitude, everywhere else would be 1...
