So I was driving along the road and saw two cyclists up ahead with a right-hand bend a bit further along the road. My first instinct was that I wouldn't catch up and pass them safely before the bend so I was getting ready to hang back. Once I caught up to the rear cyclist I realised they were going very slowly - slower than walking pace (it was uphill) - and they kindly left a gap of a couple of a couple of car lengths between them so I passed the first one and moved back to the left, then did the same to the second (leaving plenty of space of course :-) There was a police van behind me (I assumed it was one of those speed camera vans they park in random places. I get back to the house, back into the driveway and I'm still sitting in the drivers seat fiddling around when the police van comes past with 'Mobile Unit' written on the side. A bit of Googling suggests this is a surveillance van packed with cameras looking for people doing naughty stuff, and I'm guessing they got my photo while passing the house (because there's nothing else up the road unless they were interested in a chicken farm).
I'm now paranoid that I'm going to get a NIP about passing too close to a bend or somesuch - I realise if this does happen I should get some professional legal advice but is there anything I should know immediately, like should I confirm who was driving for example?
All help is greatly appreciated, I didn't get much sleep last night worrying....
