I just like to know how secure your bike is at night. I.e groud anchor, dlock, insurance etc.
My bikes are either kept in the house (no lock) or a very secure Asgard unit in the garden further locked together with a very heavy Kryptonite chain

They are also insured on my home insurance, home and away

More heavy duty chains and locks and D-Locks then I really need. It takes a while to lock/lock it all but i'm taking no chances. If a scrote wants to have a go he's going to have to bring a multitude of different tools and have the time to work through them all.

The only bike I don't lock up is the cheapo hack bike. Thinking is, they see all the locks, they see the hack...they go for the easiest option.

Steel cable and chain wrapped around beam in shed, heavy duty steel cable with four. digit combination padlock through frame and front wheel, heavy duty motorcycle high tensile chain with combination lock through back wheel and frame also threaded through steel cable, if they want my bike they gonna have to take half the shed with them and then they would have to get past my two german shepherds on the way out.

In garage with reinforced side door and main door blocked outside by piled stuff and inside by loads of timber etc stacked against it plus ground anchors and motorbike security chains.

In garage. Motorbike style hook and chain on the wall with a D lock to secure the bike to it. Thick cables wrapped around the bike and the metal ladder with another D lock. Yes it takes time to lock up but the garage door isn't that hard to pick. All the expensive stuff in the garage have chains around them.
Before Mr. K had put the secure fixings in the garage, the bike was in the house with a D lock and cable to the radiator pipe.
Unfortunately the house insurance that we have this year stipulates that I have to use a D lock when I'm out or its not covered. So I have the extra weight on longer rides or social rides that have cafe stops.

To the OP, ask your insurance company what you need to do in order to get a pay out should the worst happen

I did that with my last insurance company. They answered all my questions over the phone and I was happy with their description of the cover, but I was left thinking that I should have got it in writing.

I am not sure that my bikes *really* were covered against baggage handlers, when protected only by a cable lock outside cafes, when inside parked cars or on bike racks attached to cars, when taking part in group rides etc.
