Good luck aproaching my house without being spotted on CCTV.
Then get past my two large dogs who have free roam of the house and rear garden.
Then if you manage to do that, get past me.

IF you can do that, bikes are in the front bedroom, doors is unlocked. Bikes are unlocked :bicycle:

I had bikes stolen about 8 years ago from my garage, since then I have used battery operated red led's that give the appearance that the garage is well alarmed, no problems since. Tbh I can't be bothered to lock and unlock chains every time I want a ride, which can be several times a day in good weather.

I have a vintage scooter worth a lot of money and being in that scene, I know that nothing is going stop your bike being stolen, no chains or ground anchors will make much difference if a person is determined to take it, nor is being kept in the house going to keep it safe either.

In the garage.
Underneath the ceiling is heavy duty 4" x 4" mesh panelling (so the b^**"*s cant come in from above)
Main door is electric and had an internal combination lock.
Bikes are secured to 20mm diameter anchors which are resin fixed into the wall.....round heads so no one can get a spanner to them. Bike locks are gold secure.
Side door is dead-locked from the house...........house is alarmed.
Garage is also alarmed over and above the house alarm.
If they get through all that I reckon they deserve it

I did that with my last insurance company. They answered all my questions over the phone and I was happy with their description of the cover, but I was left thinking that I should have got it in writing.

I am not sure that my bikes *really* were covered against baggage handlers, when protected only by a cable lock outside cafes, when inside parked cars or on bike racks attached to cars, when taking part in group rides etc.
I had no issues with my then insurers when mine got nicked, secured only with a cable. Not done that again!

I think it's the specialist bike insurers that are the worst!

My other two are in the garden, not too bothered if they get nicked, one's too small for me really and t'other is my Raleigh Vixen (that no one seems to want to take off my hands)

No insurance, locked alleyway gate (terraced street) and in a rear courtyard garden in an Asgard steel bike locker.

At work I park it in the warehouse.

My butler watches over my bikes while polishing the shotgun collection. So far so good.

In the kitchen, road bike is locked to the hybrid, which is locked to Mrs NDs bike. Then there's the dog. And the alarm system. And the secure rated door, with additional deadlocks. And the insurance.
And out and about I've got the gold rated D-lock to secure the bike to something immoveable, plus a cable lock to secure the QR front wheel, just in case. And they're insured away from the home as well. I also make a point of not leaving them unattended / out of sight for more than 10 minutes, which is as much for my peace of mind as anything.

Not much more I can do, to be honest, but that should just about cover most eventualities.
