I have a camelbak for my mountain bike and panniers for the touring bike

How / where do roadies keep all the kit you need to carry, food, levers, tubes, pump, waterproof, etc?

Can you recomend something suitable for a carbon road bike with carbon seat tube

I hate having anything in my jersey/jacket pockets so the pump's attached to the bike and I use a Topeak 'fuel tank' top tube bag and/or an Ortleib saddle bag, depending on how long I'll be out and what I need to take.

Thet look reasonably sized, I did have a topeak MTX rack on my last road bike, but it did look a bit cumbersome and I am not sure about the clamp on a carbon seat post

I have a small £5 Lidl wedgie bag on the saddle with a puncture repair kit, levers, multi-tool, and spare tube... and sometimes a phone, but that requires a ram-rod to squish it inside so I usually leave it in the kitchen drawer. I wear the jacket and keep my front door key and microwallet in the back pocket. I have a small frame pump that lives on a bracket under the bottle cage. Anything else lives in a 1.75 litre wide-mouthed storage bottle that fits in the bottle cage. Work stuff lives in a very small rucksack that I try to keep as empty as possible.

Have a look at KlickFix Contour packs too.
They cantilever off the seat post so with a CF you won't want to overload it.

Smaller - I'd suggest Topeak wedge bags
Larger, has to be a Carradice

It seems wedgie type bags are the best option as the carbon seat post won't like the cantilever

I just don't want the bike to look to top heavy and over loaded

How much 'stuff' do you actually need? A puncture repair kit, a multi tool will fit into a small under seat bag. A phone, some money and if necessary a waterproof top can fit into a jersey pocket.

in the back of my jersey I carry the Lezyne smart wallet

This comes with tyre levers, puncture repair kit, tools, space for your cards and cash and phone space (depending upon size of phone) and a I.C.E section - this keeps everything in once place as as its designed for jersey pockets its really comfortable.
In my Tracks tool tube. I keep a CO2 pump spare canisters, Tube, roll of ductape and some cable. I also tape a small plastic bag to the inside of the lid with £20 in it in case of emergency.

Im not a fan of seat bags for appearance reasons, however I do own one and have used it on occasions

All in a saddlebag. You may get away with carrying stuff in a rear pocket but be warned, I came off carrying keys and ripped myself a new bumhole. I have a 6inch scar running down my buttock onto my leg!

In my youth a few years ago I had all I needed rolled up in strip of old T shirt and strapped under my saddle with a toe clip strap. In dodgy weather I would wrap the tool wrap in a lightweight cape that would also go under the saddle. We didn't have nice neat under saddle packs in those days. Phones, MP3 players and the gubbage that people seem incapable of being away from for 10 minutes weren't an issue then. Now I have panniers and sometimes amaze myself with the amount of rubbish they have in them. At the last check there were three new tubes plus a puncture outfit. A little Topeak mini pump (I have a full size pump on the frame). A set of full size allen keys as I can't be arsed with those mini things on multi tools and a gear and a brake cable.. I carry a spare pair of socks, a spare pair of gloves, a lightweight windproof jacket, a waterproof jacket AND a cape. There is also a couple of triangular bandages and a pack of toilet paper along with a Radar key. I would point out this is my winter kit. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I also have an undersaddle pouch with puncture outfit, tyre levers, chain tool, and a screwdriver with reversable blade, straight and philips. I am the first to admit it's crazy!

Fizik saddles have a clip at the back of the saddle that allows a fizik bag to clip directly to the saddle, without needing to trouble the seatpost.

I have got a medium sized on and have in it,
Spare tube
CO2 regulator
2x CO2 canisters
Multi tool
Patches
Tyre levers
Spare link

There is probably room for another canister. I did try the small version but I couldn't fit the tyre levers in it so had to go a size up. The medium isn't really very big, but big enough.

Just waiting for the new bike to arrive with the fizik saddle so I can actually use it. Nothing like being prepared...
