I've bought and sold cars, and bikes, using bank transfer. Much easier now it's pretty much instantaneous. The seller doesn't hand over the keys until the money has appeared in their account, but that's usually 10-30 seconds.
I would think if you contact your bank first and tell them you're about to receive it, and tell the buyer to do the same, it should go smoothly?
