Do you have rhyming slang equivalents for all of your national or racial nicknames? Or is it a special privilege allotted only to Scottish People?

If it's used in good nature and works both ways, I don't have a problem with that. Some workplaces just aren't politically correct, and never will be, thank god. I'm guessing Piemaster doesn't work in a bank ;)

Nope, a ship. Still very much a male dominated enviroment but it is slowly changing as Captain Alison would tell you. Banks, eg. Dogger bank are best avoided.

The sweaty sock thing was actually picked up from a Geordie, so not one of my originals. I have been on occasion been called a 'codhead' though. It works both ways and micky taking is part of the enviroment. There have been periods in the past were I've spent a lot more time with a co-worker than my wife.

My issue - which I'll make a third time for the hard of hearing in Edinburgh and North Lanarkshire - is the BBC's poor journalism...

"Adults in Scotland are drinking the equivalent of 46 bottles of vodka each in a year, a study has suggested."

Not every adult in Scotland drinks that much. I expect factual reporting from the BBC, not tabloid tat like that.

I didn't claim there isn't a drink problem, so you can get off your high horses any time you like.

You've used a generalisation to be personally insulted and then extrapolated the personal insult outwards and assumed that all scots are as insulted as you are. Isn't that as flawed as the original argument?

Scots 'drink 46 bottles of vodka'

Well done BBC, outstanding journalism.

I used to deliver vodka to the Tesco's depot in Bathgate. I remember taking a load up one night for delivery the next morning, then coming back down the next day and picking up another load to go back to the same place. When I phoned Ms RT and told her I was delivering a second load of vodka to Scotland, she said "well, they've probably already drunk yesterday's lot".;)
