@fossyant thanks for the input. I really really love my current stock handlebars.. However... I've had really awful inflammation in my elbows due to the reach to the bars being a bit too far for me. Everytime I hit a road bump or pothole it jars my elbows which are almost locked straight due to the bars being too far. I'm hoping a shorter stem from 60mm to 35mm (combined with the saddle repositioning) will give me enough bend in my elbows to protect my joints.

Searching for new stems I realised finding a sexy stem for a 31.8mm handlebar is very difficult. The MTB industry has moved towards 35mm handlebars. This means you have to buy both stem AND handlebar. Clever bar stewards!

I saw this hot Race Face handlebar to match the Race Face Turbine R 35mm x 32mm! *drools.*

Only thing is that it is 800mm and my bike wouldn't fit through my front door! It is also a combined cost £140!!! Yikes!!!:shy::blink::excl:

I have decided to keep my standard 31.8 x 740mm bars and use this Nukeproof Neutron Stem which is 31.8mm x 35mm and only £35
