How to remove cistern lid with push type flush (see photo).

I want to try one of those blocks you put in the cistern and it supposedly cleans the pan with every flush.
Q. As its a push button flush can I siimply lift the lid or do I have to maybe unscrew the push button thingy ? If so will I have a problem fitting it back?

Lift it off....the button things have a couple of rods underneath that each push on a valve deeper in the cystern

I had one once .
You just lifted it but had to be careful as clearly it stays attached
and there are different versions

I woudl lift it and look horizontally under it as it comes off to see what might be needed next - some need unclipping to take it right off

Just a word of caution, it's not recommended to put cleaning blocks into dual flush cisterns.
The chemicals in them can degrade the rubber flush seals quite quickly.

Modern ones just have push rods, no hooks or connectors.

Really!! Well that answers that then, thanks.
TBH i dont have a particular problem with it. I just saw one of these new blocks advertised and for the price thought I'd give it a go.
