How to stop Garmin Dakota at end of ride??

I must be missing something obvious. before I set off I clear current track then at finish of ride whats the best way to stop it continuing?

Turning the unit off completely doesnt do it as soon as I restart it the clock is still running on the track.Which would invalidate it for Audax purposes.

Have you tried one of these , it may only stop it the once though
