Hit her round the head with a cricket bat.

Inheritance shared from your parents will be n - 1.

When you get released from prison, you can spend her share on a new bike.

Before you do this, ask her a question.
"What does it feel like to be hit by a car when the driver drives off the road because she's texting?"

When she answers "I don't know", hit her across the kneecaps with the cricket bat. Then finish her off after saying to her,
"It hurts more than that."

My sister reckons she's actually really good at sending emails on her blackberry whilst driving.

How do I convince her to stop doing it without her calling me a 'cyclo-fascist' and dismissing me?

If the police came knocking on your sister's door to deliver a message that one her loved ones, whether family or friends, had been killed in a road traffic collision she'd have many questions.

These questions would probably include:

Was the driver speeding.
Was the driver drunk.
Was the driver under the influence of drugs.
Was the driver using a mobile phone.

Ask her how she'd feel if a driver killed someone close to her because they were so bloody stupid and selfish to be texting / sending e-mails / talking on a mobile phone while driving.

When you go for Special Forces training, the instructor teaches you how to dissarm and disable a combatant. He demonstrates by dissarming and disabling YOU, to show you what it feels like.

Then the nods practice on each other and tell their combatant if their attempt was severe enough.

Demonstrate to your sister what it feels like to be hit by a car.
Get in her car and run her over.

you can be prossicuted for dangerous driving as a result of using a hand held mobile device or anything else that interfears with safe operation of a vehicle,

It was introduced in summer 2008 - I remember it well as my manager used to shout at me for not answering the phone or replying to texts

each time, it went like this:

"I'm on a three hour drive from wales to get back here in time, are you wanting me to stop to phone you back, find your out of the office, set off again, not answer your call, stop, phone you back etc etc or would you like me to just get on with it?"

"but what if I need you to go somewhere else on your way back?"

"leave an answerphone message or give more detail than 'call me', that way I know what your wanting and not just wanting an update on where I am"

"fair enough"

Lol, I'm not doubting that it's illegal, simply saying that that should not be the reason why someone chooses not to text whilst driving, the moral issues and potential threat of injuring others and ones self should be the catalyst for change.

I quite agree, I'm sure we all do here, but unfortunately there is a group of risk taking drivers who do so because they believe their own skills to be so great that they can do things that lesser drivers shouldn't do. For this group the risk of being caught is the only deterrent.

School friend of my son- lovely girl, full of fun and very happy- was driving along the slow lane of a dual carriageway near where we live- good visibility, dry and the road was empty of traffic. She had been texting while driving and ran into the back of a car slowly joining the dual carriageway from a lay-by which she presumably hadn't noticed. The driver of the car she hit was killed as a result of the accident. She received a 4 year jail sentence. It isn't the being sent to jail that has ruined her life, though that was traumatic enough for someone who had never been in a moment's trouble, she cannot put right what she did and has to live with it for the rest of her life.

Tell your sister that.

Today.

Now.

superglue all the vowels on her phone.
Then call the cops - she lives selfishly, she'll die selfishly...leaving your family with unhappiness as a legacy. Just great - well done her.

Get your hand's on her motor insurance details.
Phone them up and ask for an extension to the policy to cover third party cover while texting on a mobile phone.

Show her this thread. Ask her what she thinks now.

Actually, that is a good suggestion. There's a lot of societal acceptance behind bad driving behaviour, challenging this might help.

As it's almost bonfire night, nick a 'guy' from the local urchins outside the local pub, hide behind something

as your sister approaches driving her car and happily texting...........

And Throw the Guy out in front of her !!!  :wahhey:

when she's calmed down and changed her knickers, ask her how she'd feel if it had been a kid running out in front of her - bet it stops her !
