stand on scales holding it, note weight, put bike on floor, note weight, then do the maths.

Strip it into component parts, and weigh each piece on kitchen scales. Don't forget to allow for grease and lubricants, plus the air the tubes.

If you don't have scales, go to this website http://weightweenies.starbike.com/listings.php and search for every component part, make a list and get a calculator to tell you the aggregate score. Don't forget to allow for the air in the tyres, but you can knock 3 grammes off per valve cap, and don't include the pedals. You may also legitimately discount the weight of any decals or transfers.

I upend the bicycle onto the back wheel, front wheel in the air and get it as close as possible to balancing. Probably easier to just weigh yourself holding the bike and without though.

Do you know an Angler? I use my Fishing scales, accurate to less than an ounce (useful for my fishing :sad: )whereas bathroom scales?
