I'm fortunate to have had an amazing year cycling-wise.

Managed a record for me of six imperial centuries incl one on the tandem, all in the Peak District or Yorkshire Dales.

Particular highlights were holidays with day rides in the Trossachs around Loch Katrine, a trip to the high French Alps with friends and littlest Tuesday and a tour of Alpine lakes on the tandem though Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein and France.

How do you feel looking back at 2025?

A few stats:
12,000km (3000 of which on the tandem)
Longest ride: 175km - train to Lancaster and home
Biggest ascent: 1938m Col Agnel
Highest point: 2802m Cime de la Bonette

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Pretty dire for me , the lingering knee issue i have had since june has hampered my riding so i am way down on all my rides having to miss weekend rides and even cut back on commuting while it rests , every time i started to make any gains it would flare up again to the point even stairs were painful at times . Diagnosis of wear to the coating on the back of the knee cap and a big bruise in the bone itself have really knocked my for six
I did join a new club after my old one closed its doors but as its a racing club their social pace is my decent pace so im hanging on and my old bikes ( i don’t have anything newer than 10+ years and on the cheaper end ) where they are in general 20 years younger and on the latest tech.

The boat took up a lot of the year getting it ready to live but that's all done now so next year will involve a great deal more. Over the year around 1300 miles.

Much the same as last 3 years, none exiting due to illness.
Hoping to start on the rollers and got back out in May, all the do not lift, cycle, jog or work warnings should have expired by then.

Not as many miles as last year, but close to 2,800 which is 300 more than my target.

The highlight was Hadrians wall ride in June and my first imperial century in August.

Overall I’m happy.

2025 has been a bit disappointing really, mostly due to SWMBO being rather more poorly than normal and having had three falls (one of which resulted in her left wrist being broken in three places). Her health means that opportunities to get out and ride the bike is rather limited at the best of times so this year has seen me doing less miles than planned.

In 2024 I managed 1,825 miles (119 rides/126hrs) and set a target of 2,000 for this year but only managed 1,403 (85 rides/101hrs) - very disappointing. I am hoping to get to the 2,000 miles target in 2026 🤞

A good year, getting on for 5000miles with a stack of climbing. Highlights were 3 trips to Mallorca.
One minor off which resulted in a cracking (not literally fortunately) cut/rash on hip but otherwise unscathed which ultimately is the main thing.
My goals when I head out are don't get hurt and make it up every climb without having to stop. Anything else a bonus.

I lost ~9 weeks of my "outdoor season" (Mar-Oct ish) through three respiratory infections, most I can recall in some years, unfortunately two of them with only a short respite inbetween starting the day my ebike arrived.

Consequently, my fitness progress this year has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I've been making steady progress since late September.

I've struggled to sort out my sleep pattern all year, which meant I was in no fit state to get out early (before 1000) on the ebike on heatwave days, during the coolest part of the day.

But getting the ebike has been a revelation for my outdoor riding, that has been so limited since my long covid began in Oct '22. Being able to do regular 1.5-3.5 ebike rides has enabled me to visit some places I've been incapable of rising to on my old road bike since Queen Liz's funeral, such as near Butser Hill and Stoner/Wheatham Hills.

Zwift's Zwift Racing System isn't that great at quantifying ability due to how simplistic it is, but for what it's worth, I've recently been promoted for some series like Tiny Races into the second weakest pen rather than the weakest one I've been in for three years... Albeit still a long way below my old pen ability on the A/B boarder under Category Enforcement. I seem to be getting back a bit of my "puncheur" strength, being able to flog myself for 1-5mins with short breaks between efforts, without massive drops in effort.

In conclcusion, '25 riding was a mixed bag for me, but mostly good.

Looking at the mileage I was going to say disappointing as mileage down on 2024, but then looking at 2021, 2022 and 2023 it's more than nearly all those combined so I'm happy overall.

Not a brilliant year for me tbh. Tale of 2 half's, biking reasonable did dirty reiver and some other gravel events and started bike packing / touring. Other half was running but apart from 1 20 miler and a load of 5 / 10k events not brilliant. Hopefully next yr will be better as according to strava combined mileage is the same but biking is less.

Another fairly consistent year. Collided with a deer in May, and bad cuts and bruising but nothing broken, and able to keep riding. Less hours than 2024, but intentional, as getting more walking and strength work in. Plus some mountaineering trips / outings. Another consistent year (without deer collisions) will be welcome in 2026.

A total of 227 days when I got out on the bike. Average duration somewhere around 2 hours per outing, with a number outliers for my Audax events. Longest distance in a single day was 412km / 256 miles.

Not much this year, probably 6-8 rides on a bike and more on the e-Trike but then I tweaked my Achilles back in september going up a ladder to trim some Ivy. Heel still painful but slowly improving so hopefully a bit more next year. :cycle::bicycle:

My worst year for a long time - a massive 30 miles in the whole year.
Sadly cycling became a poor loser to chemotherapy and radiotherapy for the other big C.
Any hope of regaining my fitness is going to take most of 2026 at best.
