My home email address has a current inbox of 42461, but that is mainly rubbish.
If my work email exceeds 100 unread messages i panic.

Pretty good, rarely have much in my work inbox, delete, delegate or move to a folder to work on later.

Home one is a bit of a mess though. None unread but I don't clear out the inbox very often.

A few years back we found a director of our PLC company had 3,000 unread inter-company e-mails in his box ........
Whilst a few would have been inter-company 'spam', the vast majority would have been messages sent just to him, or just to a small select group of directors

He simply marked them all as read.
That got rid of the problem.

I haven't been able to get into the internet/e-mail at work, since we moved into the new (PFI'd) building over 8 years ago

I hate having unread emails in my inbox.
Having said that there a lot of unread emails in my deleted folder.

The discipline is not to reply to everything as that just creates a cascade of email. For shops I use disposable alias which I delete every so often.

I put everything important into an "Action" folder.

Occasionally I even look at what's in there.
