Thats a bit like being off work for a week. Worse thing about taking leave.

Thank you for your email. I am on vacation and your email has been set to auto delete .if you send me another one, it will be met with the same fate. But I'm sure you will try, because then you can tell your boss you sent me not one, but TWO emails.

The email culture, where I work, does my head in. People seem to have forgotten the art of talking face to face.

People in my team email me, when they sit at the next desk!!

I understand that some conversations involve a wider audience and so need copying in to a distribution list, but I think sometimes it’s the fact that people want someone to blame, if they are questioned about a decision, and they can quote an email as evidence?

A few months ago, the hard drive on my work laptop completely packed up so I lost all my old emails.
A few days ago on the replacement laptop I somehow managed to permanently delete all the emails in my inbox.
It’s actially quite liberating to have no record of the past...

Nope . Read and file. Emails going back to day 1 of employment have pulled company out of poo when client claims a latent defect which was down to client engineer messing about with things he shouldn’t have been ...

My home email address has a current inbox of 42461, but that is mainly rubbish.
If my work email exceeds 100 unread messages i panic.

I probably delete 80-90% of my work emails without reading them. I work on the principle that if it's important I'll find out soon enough, and even then, half the time there'll be another email countermanding the first...

Nothing to do with a full inbox more to do with me not paying attention.

I had to send my eye optical prescription to Optilabs (the sports glasses people) so I sent it to sales @optilab, a very nice man emailed me back thanking me for the prescription but pointed out they were a Fibre Optic company and suggested I send it to sales@optilabs

There must be a joke in me not seeing s on an glasses related email.

Work e-mail is clean as a whistle, 9 messages in inbox and the rest (60,000 +) archived and searchable.

Personal is not bad, but I got tired of 15+ junks a day that made it through to my inbox, so I opened a new address which I'm more savvy about giving out now.

Nothing worse than "ping?" ......."oooh I've got friends!"........."special offer, russian women, cheap viagra"....dammit no-one loves me after all
