Original saddle on my MTB did that too after about a year and a half.

Too many bumps with my weight on it, I think....

Well, new saddle fitted. So far so good, seems a bit more comfortable (worth the extra tenner!), but going to take a week or more to break in and tweak the positioning I guess. Let's see how long it takes me to break this one...
