Humax Foxsat Non-recording Question...

All working pretty much as it should except a couple of times I've set the box to record and it hasn't. I'm not sure it can be operator error because it's so simple (yes I know, thank you! ), select prog and 'yes' to record. But then it obviously hasn't as there's no programme listed in the media bit thingy. Anyone else found this or is it just me?

Yep, have you set two things to record at once and as Cheule says, how many inputs. Also does it show it as scheduled?

We only have one input connected. Haven't really recorded that many things and we don't watch an awful lot, usually set the recorder if it's on really late or we're going out. Maybe we'd left it on and on a different channel. If you turn the box off (not at the wall, of course) will it turn itself on to record?

If you'd left it on then it might not have been able to record the other channel, depends on which doo dah on the wotsit the signal is from and yes it will switch itself back on, provided you don't do what Mrs Crackle did before we went on holiday and go and switch all the plugs off.

Yes it will turn itself on and record.
I had issues with recording whilst only having one input (I was running down my Sky at the time ). Since putting both inputs in the box and setting it up again (this is important - otherwise it still thinks there's only 1 input!!) it works fine and no problems.

I'll make sure to turn it off next time, that must be it, the doo dah on the wotsit thingy. Bet there was some hilarity in the Crackle household when the 'error' was discovered, laugh...

For several years I had a Saturday job behind the counter of a photographic shop. People were always coming in asking if we fixed cameras. 'Have you checked the battery?' we'd ask, to which the answer more often than not was: 'Battery?'

It could just be that it's simply not recorded through no fault of your own. I have a Humax PVR (freeview) and that does occasionally happen.

As an example, I had the X-Files set to be recorded via the series link. It was on every day and nothing else was set to be recorded at that time. The box is sitting on standby and for some unknown reason, it's missed one of the shows and has only recorded four of the five that week.

I think it's something to do with the box 'missing' the signal that tells it a particular programme is on.
