Hunt Wheels – should I avoid?

The 4 Seasons Disc are 26 deep but we were discussing the rimmed 4 Seasons which are 28 deep.

Hunts are tubeless ready but the XC-279 rim is not.

I didn’t link to the XC-279 😂 and 2mm extra depth really isn’t going to make much difference.

Besides you want wider rims if you want the aero benefits with 28mm or wider tyres etc.

The Hunt 36 UD carbon rims (rim brake) with CeramicSpeed (bearings make no tangible difference to steel, I ordered them 'just because') have been fine for me, I got a good discount and when I told them I ordered XDR by mistake, they sent the Shimano component I needed (CeramicSpeed) and a water bottle for free! They didn't want the £200+ XDR (CeramicSpeed) part back so I can pop that on my Roval gravel wheels at some point if I want to.

Ideal Winter wheels, inexpensive (compared to all my other wheel-sets, so a subjective comparison) and, so far, good Customer service, in my case.

Four Seasons are Kinlin 28s on Novatec Hubs/Pillar Spokes – Spa could build you Kinlin/Bitex Hubs/Sapim Spokes, you wouldn't get the HUNT logo on the rims though.

I have a set of these, from a private ebay sale, brand new, the seller had bought them for a build then had a bad accident so plans changed, asymmetrical rear, set up tubeless (no tape required) on my steel Chesini, very light, I do like them.

I thought you were about to say £100 to you!🤣🤣

I have a pair of DA c24 but cannot bring myself to rid them regularly!!

Bontrager are the Trek brand for components, don't know if that helps you find reviews.

who incidentally have a sale on, I passed my old fulrum racing 5s to my OH to replace her stock bontrager wheels similar to what you've linked, and we both made significant weight savings!!

I would rather have these than my Hunt 4 seasons which are about £300 more.
