From what I've seen of the process, you wait within a few yards of the nets, and pounce as soon as the rabbit gets caught. Killing it instantly then means very little time trapped.

Awww, that's ok then.

hey Arch, OF netting birds you will be amazed or maybe not that many birds dont get retrapped many birds are moving through the countryside looking for food. I watched someone a number of years ago and he only retrapped 3 from around 120 in 4 hours. it was amazing to watch.

Milo ... i've been hunting rabbits for over 30 years and whilst netting is effective if you can get the landowner to keep your gun on the farm then the modern Air Rifle is the way forward without getting into Firearms Certificates

This is mine ...

I have not fired an air gun in years and I can't see me hitting a rabbit in the head from 20 paces. Would not want them to suffer from a bad shot.

Well when you can fucking spell it, I might think you mean it.

I had a hamster as a kid - your point?

What has spelling got to do with it. You're turning this into an unpleasant thread.

I think learning to shoot would be a good skill. Bound to be a club near you.

You're right Rich and I apologise, it was a low shot. ;)

I am very much into animal welfare and I took things too far.

If people feel the need to kill animals, it is up to them. Must be nice.
