Hybrid Bicycle recommendations?

Hi all,

I currently own a Trek 7 FX which is about 4 years old and as my commute to and from central London is very hilly, I realise that I need to get a lighter, better bicycle. I have tried a road bike for a couple of months but controversially I prefer hybrid. I've test cycled a Trek 7.6 FX (£900) and it was great. I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this bike or if anyone had any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for any tips

Specialized sirrus road comp at £800 is very good

I think the Sirrus is too close to the Trek to make a difference.

Giant Rapid is a proper road bike with flat bars.

Boardman Hybrid Pro - you can also get it under a C2W scheme much cheaper than its £999 price tag.

i can't believe you didn't recommend the Giant Rapid - as its a defy with road bars

my recommendation would be the giant rapid 2 or 3 full on road bike with flat bars - could also go for the ridgeback ultraflight range
