Plenty of choice for subways
i ran schwable city jets, not as resistant as marathons but fast rolling with a puncture strip

Hold on ...
I thought subways had 26 " wheels .... goes to check mine.

EDIT
Mine are definitely 26 x 1.95 stock tyres, were yours 27.5 or a miss print in the wheel size in the specifications ?

I think the 2015 version is 27.5. Regular (non +)Schwalbe marathon are good tyres too.

That's for a single tyre but looks like they don't have your size, go with the ones that come with the bike till they wear out.

Good to hear I made the right choice. Just been in to Halfords after ordering the 18" model online this morning and they suggested I get the 20" frame so I changed the order.

One thing i've read is to get better tyres. They didn't have any in store so suggested I looked online as they don't stock many different 27.5" tyres other than mountain bike ones. So i'm concerned that I've bought a bike that I don't have much choice with tyres. I basically want better tyres to reduce the chance of punctures. Any advice on a better tyre that's suitable for the road?
As a newbie eight months ago I also worried about flats investigated slime different tyres etc .Shop (halfords ) advised run what it comes with and see how you go 2000 miles later still going strong . Just make sure you carry a spare tube and pump and have a pratice changing a tube at home .first time it's harder than you think
Enjoy the bike

I agree, the OEM tyres are not bad ether on or off road - see how you get on with them..

I would keep the ones that are on the bike, especially over Winter. Get a puncture repair set and a couple of tyre levers. I use the ready glued patches and plastic levers. Dont forget the pump.

Carry a inner tube or two , its easier to change a tube and then repair at home rather than on a country lane in the dark in the middle of winter.

I carry a tube as well. Luckily, having Marathon Plus tyres on I have not had a puncture in ages, and I ride over really rough surfaces.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to get the Schwalbe Marathon Performance tyres once I get paid and change them over myself. It will give me experience changing a tyre and tube as I've not done it since I was probably 10 years old..

Just out of interest, is there a particular type of tube to get or doesn't it really matter, are they all about the same?

I use halfords tubes, I don't find them better or worse than premium brands costing 2 or 3 times as much. They quite often do 5 for a tenner (or £9 with British cycling membership, did you join to get the 10% off the bike?) get you 10% off at chain reaction too if they happen to sell those tyres
