Hybrid wheel advice

Hi, I have a 1 1/2 year old Boardman hybrid comp. After a small incident on Thursday where a sudden braking manouver in the wet led to my rear wheel skidding out to the side of me, this resulted in the wheel bending. My rear wheel is now more eliptical than round!

I am looking to replace the wheel but don't know what to look for as it has no markings or references on it. I am not afraid to learn a bit of bike maintenance with the help of my bike-mad mate and put the gear cogs and disc-brake disc from the bent wheel onto the new wheel.
Any advice on what to look for would be great!

Hi Dan the wheel size will be on the tire.
I would take it to a shop maybe they can re true it for you.
If not they should be able to match up a replacement for you, i would be cheeky and ask them to switch over the cogs while i was there.
