HYC phones - unlocked at Markets?

Hi,

Its been a while since I had a phone unlocked, just wondering if anyone knows if the usuall unlockers on the market stalls can unlock a HTC wildfire? Or does it have to be sent away as some ebay adverts suggest (Sounds a bit dodgey!)
