D4VOW, did you actually read my post? I pointed out that I was going reasonably slowly because I was in the park and still found the strip difficult to negotiate and dangerous.

I too do not particularly like those cyclists who whizz through the park going too fast but I would argue that rumble strips that are an accident waiting to happen are not the solution.

Here's a pic of the segregated route in question (with a cyclist and pedestrians on both sides), before the humps were installed:

Has anyone got pics of the humps?

just out of interest why is this called "segregated"? clearly its a shared use path - there's nothing to stop cyclists or pedestrians using either side.

I've been over the cobbles a couple of times last week and it struck me they were put in the wrong way round. The steep ones should be on the "pedestrian" side to stop you cycling there. (i just went on the sandy ped side and ignored the bumps)

And re the mention of Battersea park, wasn't it Clapham common that had similar stupid huge bumps put in recently that were subsequently "smoothed" out a bit?

Clapham common has some very minor calming on the cycle path. Whether it gets cyclists down to the speed limit of 5mph is open to question
