Because you have to recharge the tank, just like any car/motorbike,

As I understand it they are very friendly in use the only byproduct is water, but the production is not good, IF they could get a better production method then hydrogen is supposed to be better than battery.

Stick a wind turbine up on your shed, use it to crack Hydrogen from rainwater, fill your bike. Essentially free apart from the hardware.
