I'm just in front and behind you, I'm 60 next month and I don't feel much different to when I was 30, a tad slower perhaps, maybe tire a shade easier and perhaps not quite as strong. Mentally I'm stronger and cope better with what life throws at me.

It helps having an 18 year old still partly inside your head though. Don't know if women have the same, but all my 40-50 ish mates have. On Halloween some teens let off a stink bomb in our porch; my 10 year old was appalled when I said that was a good trick.

Yep... 55 here and mentally 25. Since taking up road riding I've shed another ten years.

60 next month, bought an electric bike in the summer to do the 20 mile commute, and suitably enthused and fitter fitted narrow tyres to my normal mountain bike and was also using this a couple times a week until the dark/wet/cold stopped play. Average speed and distance have improved, and aiming to get a road bike next year. So perhaps electric bikes aren't so bad.

Why stop because its cold/wet/dark? Working a late shift I've been riding home in the dark for weeks now, when its cold I just put on another layer, when its wet I just wear waterproofs.

I am 44 and trying to stay in shape for my 50's which i am hoping will bring some financial freedom (kids grown up and self sufficient)

Its good to hear you can keep going into your 60's and beyond
