Got into a minor altercation with a cyclist this morning.

Sitting at a set of lights, middle aged guy casually dressed, dreadlocks, old mtb cruises straight past me and through the lights. Catch up with him quickly, pass, stop at next set of lights in a relatively narrow cycle lane. Guy barges straight through narrow cyclelane section. Give him a wtf look as I pass him again, shortly before he does exactly the same thing again at the next lights. Catch up with him little bit later, by now he's riding on the pavement.

"And on the pavement, too!" says I, incredulously in his direction as I pass yet again "Whats your problem?!? Rantrantrantrant" comes the reply.

I don't think either of us come out of this too well.

Rastaman never bow to the Red Light Babylon System!

Maybe he tried to wait at a traffic light before, but it wouldn't go red gold & green at the same time....

Ah, at least it's only a bit of yelling, and cyclists are the only other people I respect on the road. So far this morning I have a sore throat from yelling on several occasions at cars, mostly encroaching on the cycle lane.

Thing is, us cyclists have a hard enough time without people behaving like idiots.

Driving home from work along a road that's 'just' wide enough for one car in either direction I saw a cyclist ahead, so dropped back a touch and made sure I could pass him as I'd liked to be past.

A little further up the road the traffic is slowing right down for a series of roundabouts, all cars are hugging the curb to leave room for cars coming in the opposite direction. I could see the afore mentioned cyclist coming up about 100m behind had decided to try squeezing through the non-existent inside lane whilst banging cars and insulting the drivers for not leaving him room.

Before he got too close to me I wound the passenger window down and made it very clear that I wouldn't take kindly to him trying to scrape past and it would end in tears. Cyclist made a detour up the path with threats of what he would do to me if he wasn't heading in the opposite direction at a rate of knots.

This wasn't some chav type but a respectable looking type with decent kit.

Point being, some cyclists don't help.
