Possibly the stupidest bit of driving I've ever seen this morning. I was too astounded to even get annoyed about it.

A man driving a small white van, while eating a filled baguette with both hands and steering with his elbows!

Well at least he had his elbow on the wheel.

Saw a lass a couple of months ago driving along holding a compact in one hand, applying make up with the other, staring in to the mirror. I have no idea how she was steering.

What was in the baguette?

I find the more scary drivers are those with nothing to distract them and who are focussed on the road ahead............................and still drive like post-op lobotomy patients!

Lucky thing you didn't distract him. He would undoubtedly have spilt the coffee cup which was perched on his knees out of your line of sight. Oh and did you really not spot the mobile wedged between his shoulder and ear?

With her knees of course... ;)

It is amazing just how stupid some people are...

Before anyone suggests otherwise that is not a reference to Cab.

earlier this year as I was driving down a lane in the van, I came up behind a car that was being driven a bit slower than is normal and a bit erratic. I followed for a couple of miles before he turned of, as he turned I could he was driving with a map on the steering wheel.

Problem is: millions of motorists are doing this - or something very close to this - quite legally (or is it?). What with their Tomtoms or what-have-you prominently mounted on the fascia. I know you're only supposed to listen to the wretched thing, not to stare at it, when you're on the move, but how many motorists can resist a lingering gaze I wonder? Perhaps someone with experience (I'm very anti- these gadgets) can answer me?

Best one i saw was a school run mum in a Q7, 2 kids in the back, cigarette in 1 hand (held out of slightly opened window to protect them from her smoke), mobile in the other, 3 tons of metal being steered with her knees.

Thought this one would take some beating...

"A lorry driver was pulled up by police in China - after driving for hundreds of miles with a sheet of cardboard covering his broken windscreen.

Mr Li drove by sticking his head out of the side window - in freezing conditions - or by peering through tiny holes in the cardboard, reports China News Network."
