I am just not in the mood

For some reason I have been quite tired recently and not been bothered about going out on my bike. I have been busy this week but today I have the house free and was planning on going for a long ride. The wind has picked up though and it is raining as I speak.

My camera broke last weekend (partly my fault) so I suspect that might be adding to the lazyness. However I am perfectly capable of going along the coast on a traffic free route for about 20 miles.

Is it just me or is everyone else just not bothered about going out? I think I will just stay in the warm and play a bit of GTA 4.

It's the snow that is dampening my enthusiasm for all things outdoors just now.

It's not compulsory to ride,so don't if you don't want to. There is nothing worse than feeling obliged to do something (well, there is, having your penis gnawed by rodents is probably worse... at a guess)

Riding should be a pleasure not a chore. Don't let your head tell you otherwise!

That said, you can end up having a really enjoyable ride when you've not fancied going out. I know I have. But then equally I've also had a crap ride and come in wishing I'd listened to myself in the first place!

The rain won't keep me in, but the damn wind will do!! I hate hate hate :gun: hate it.

I managed to plan my rides this week quite well this week, scheduling a rest day today! Tomorrow is forecast to be lovely :sun: so maybe you can go out then instead?

The chore I find is getting ready, once out it is pleasure 99% of the time:thumbsup:

Why can't you ride without a camera...??

I went out today for the first time in a week - pootle, about 12 miles including a trip to the post office to sort my replacement driving licence, a mooch around Evans and the obligatory skinny latte. Windy and it was raining for the second half at least

Which is slightly marred by the fact that Niko can't nick a pushbike. A serious oversight if you ask me.

You can have my enthusiasm for cycling, if you like. There's nothing quite like not being able to do something to make you realise just how much you want to.

I also cleaned my rims after scaring black cab drivers with my squeaky brakes (ironic eh  ) ...I blackened about 20 Very Hungry Caterpillar wet wipes! :girl:

I think we all suffer with lack of mojo now and again, it comes back after a while, the only cycling I've done lately is commuting, I took a Sunday off before an event and then the bad weather hit and the event got cancelled, shortly after that I went down with the lurgy and haven't been able to get out, I wanted to but common sense had to prevail and I had to give myself some recovery time.

Don't worry Mat. I haven't been out on my bike since end of January due to different factors. Must go soon as I don't want to lose the little fitness I have.

Hurray! Genuinely pleased to see you post Matt  I was worried that your recent absence may mean that others words had been prophetic and you'd had an 'altercation' with a driver... I was starting to worry.

So nice to see you're good and just in a bit of a slump. Just get back out there - the hardest part is often the act of getting out the door, and everything falls back into place once you get moving
