"Young and Ex-whippet"
I went on the first club run after christmas this evening.

Apart from falling behind because I was in the wrong gear for a steep hill, I kept up with everyone okay.
On the return part of our route, a cyclist got a puncture, so we stopped at a bus stop. I refilled my airzound but had to take my camera off to do so. We then had a 1 mile descent on a dual carraige way.
But when I got to the bottom, I realised I had forgotten to put my camera back on the bike, and left it on the floor. I pulled over, watched everyone pass me, and returned up the hill (took about 15 mins). I got to the top, got the camera, and headed back down.

By this point, I was about 8 miles away from home. I knew I wouldnt catch everyone up so decided just to pootle home. I am very worn out and apologies for causing anyone any greif (when noone from the club is on here).

I really must pay more attention when out on club runs. (We had a large 2 mile uphill bit before the bus stop so I was a little tired and very hot).

You did let the ride leader know you had left but were OK?
+1. You should really text the ride leader to let them know.

Don't worry about it.

I got dropped on the club run once*, never even occurred to me to let anyone know I was OK. Just worked out my own route and carried on alone (the area is rather familiar).

*lack of balls- descending slowly on a greasy road. They must've turned left at the bottom 'cos I blasted up the hill on the other side (I go uphill well enough) and there was no sign of 'em.
